In February 2018 industrial producer prices rose 1.8 percent year-on-year in the European Union, while in Croatia they increased by 1.0 percent, according to data released by Eurostat.
In EU28, the increase in industrial prices was thanks to a 2.6 percent rise in the prices of intermediate goods, and 2.3 percent rise in energy sector prices. Total industry prices excluding energy rose 1.7 percent.
In the euro zone, the 1.6 percent price increase was due to rises of 2.4 percent for intermediate goods, of 2.0 percent in the energy sector. Total industry prices excluding energy also rose by 1.6 percent.
The highest increases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Estonia (5.4 percent), Bulgaria (4.4 percent), Latvia (3.8 percent) and Hungary (3.6 percent). The biggest drops were in Luxembourg (2 percent), Greece (0.7 percent), Ireland and Cyprus (both 0.6 percent).
Month-on-month, the February 2018 industrial producer prices stayed the same in the EU28 and rose by 0.1 percent in the euro area. In January 2018 prices increased by 0.4 percent in both zones.
In Croatia, industrial producer prices decreased by 0.5 percent in February 2018 compared with the previous month, when they rose by 0.1 percent.
