The Minister President of the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, is scheduled to come to a two-day visit to Croatia on Wednesday, the German Embassy to Croatia said in a press release on Monday, adding that the visit is aimed at fostering good relations.
Kretschmann will arrive with a delegation of officials and representatives of the executive and judicial authorities, as well as members of civil society, scientific, and cultural communities from Baden-Wuerttemberg.
He is expected to meet with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Economy Minister Martina Dalic and Foreign Minister Marija Pejcinovic-Buric, the Embassy said.
On the first day, Kretschmann will visit the eastern city of Vukovar and hold talks with representatives of the city, county and civil society organisations, and on Thursday, he will visit the Rimac electric supercar company near Zagreb.
Baden-Wuerttemberg, one of the most prosperous and wealthiest regions in Europe, with a generally low unemployment rate, is a very popular destination for Croats settling in Germany. Almost 110,000 live in that region, more than in any other German state.
