Referring to the incident in the Serbia’s parliament when a nationalist and a convicted war criminal Vojislav Seselj trampled a Croatian flag and swore at a visiting Croatian delegation, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said he was very sorry that the Croats decided to cut the stay short.

He added that Seselj also had an outburst during the visit of the EU Foreign and Security chief Frederica Mogherini, but said she had not left the parliament, let alone Serbia.

“The question is why it happened, and I have no answer to that. However, our obligation is to condemn that and that is the difference between us and the Croats,” he said.

Vucic added that only Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic had condemned some incidents, while others did not do that “when a Serb flag was burned and when I was called a Chetnic (Serbian national movement during the WWII and the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s) in Zagreb.”
