At the end of April 2018, 159,695 unemployed people were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), down 10.3 percent compared to March 2018, and down 21.8 percent compared to April last year.
According to HZZ annual data, this is the lowest number of unemployed since 2003.
As of today, there are 153,615 jobless, and 24,859 vacancies, registered with the HZZ.
According to the data, in April this year 12,683 unemployed people registered with the HZZ, down 6.5 percent compared to April 2017. The majority of them, some 65.1 percent, or 8,257, previously had employment contracts, while 29 percent (3,689) were inactive. About 2.3 percent (287) were graduates.
Some 22,760 persons registered with the HZZ found employment in April this year.
The southern Split-Dalmatia County had the most registered unemployed people, at 26,672 or 16.7 percent of the total numer of the unemployed in the country, while the fewest unemployed were registered in the largest in Croatia, but least populated, Lika-Senj County (2,110, or 1.3 percent).
