Possible consequences of trade war on global economy, European Central Bank’s monetary politics, as well as the causes and effects of migration flow, are some of the main topics of the 24th International Dubrovnik Economic Conference, which began on Monday.

The two day conference, organised by the Croatian National Bank (HNB), is traditionally attended by representatives of international financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, European Central Bank, and so on.

“We are currently on the edge of a trade war, so we will discuss the possible consequences that customs barriers have on regions and economies,” said HNB governor Boris Vujcic.

IMF representatives will give their view of the future of the European monetary politics in the next years, and the results of HNB’s analysis on causes and effects of the current migration flows which began after Croatia joined the European Union, will be presented.
