At the end of May this year, there were 141,896 unemployed persons in Croatia, which is 11.1 percent or 17,700 fewer than at the end of April 2018, the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) reported on Monday.
Compared to May 2017, there were 21.5 percent, or 38,837 fewer unemployed in Croatia in May 2018.
There were 3,599 newly-registered job-seekers, 2.3 percent (517) of whom were school leavers.
A total of 30,196 people were deleted from the unemployment register in May, 20 percent fewer on the year. Some 21,950 of them found jobs.
The number of unemployed currently stands at 138,700, with 23,711 job vacancies.
