We should turn to the future and cover the trenches of the past, Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic told N1 on Thursday following talks in Belgrade with Serbian Orthodox Church head Patriarch Irinej and Catholic Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar.
“I love coming to Belgrade because when I go to Terazije square or Knez Mihajlova street I feel like on Jelacic square (in central Zagreb). Wherever I go in the former Yugoslavia I have come home,” the Zagreb mayor said.
Bandic also met with newly elected Belgrade Mayor Zoran Radojicic. Speaking before that meeting, Bandic said he expected to cooperate well with the new mayor like he did with his predecesors. “I want to say I believe we will cooperate, like I did with [former mayors] Sinisa Mali and Dragan Djilas and other Belgrade mayors,” he said.
