The Sarajevo police arrested a Syrian A.M. and an Algerian D.A. and found a weapons cache during Sunday raid in Sarajevo.

The Sarajevo Canton’s Interior Ministry spokesperson, Suada Kuldija, told N1 that police officers stopped two persons asking for their ID’s but then the two started running away. Nonetheless, they were quickly apprehended by the police.

During this operation, the police raided several locations across the Centar municipality where they found a weapons cache – namely a rifle, four pistols, a silencer and over 100 bullets of various calibre.

The arrested Syrian had documents on them proving they were registered with the Sarajevo field office of the Foreigners’ Affairs Service.

Police say the operation will continue and the on-duty prosecutor and the Foreigners’ Affairs Service were notified of these events.
