Two MPs representing the Serb ethnic minority in the Croatian parliament had food thrown at them while passing by a restaurant in central Zagreb, the Serb National Council (SNV) of Croatia said on Friday in a press release.

Milorad Pupovac and fellow MP Boris Milosevic, both of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) were passing by a restaurant in the central open air market in the Croatian capital when food was thrown at them from behind.

The SNV press release said that this was not the first verbal or physical assault on Pupovac, who chairs both his party and SNV, and added that a political and media campaign was underway against both Pupovac and his party.
