Serbia has to meet all the criteria in chapters 23 and 24 of the pre-accesion negotiations with the European Union, Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejcinovic Buric said on Friday.

“Croatia’s unequivocal stand is that Serbia has to meet all the criteria to get our green light. We should be clear – there will be no easing,” she told a news conference following opposition allegations that her ministry was not sufficiently keeping track of Serbia’s accession negotiations.

The Croatian government and the ministry “are working on resolving all open questions with Serbia, with focus on the question of missing persons as crucial and of top importance in relations between the two states”.

The minister also denied claims by opposition Most MPs that she worked for the Serbian government. “It’s completely untrue that I was ever engaged by the Serbian government or any Serbian ministry. I worked on an EU project to provide technical assistance to adapt legislature,” Pejcinovic Buric said.
