One migrant child has been admitted to hospital after the clash of migrants and police at the northwestern Bosnia's border crossing with Croatia on Wednesday morning.

A five-year-old was in the group of some 200 migrants who spent the night in open at the Maljevac border crossing, near the town of Velika Kladusa, and who demanded that the border opens for them to proceed to the European Union countries.

“We received three injured migrants. They are being observed, a five-year-old and two adults,” a chief nurse of Velika Kladusa hospital told N1.

A major clash of police and migrants happened on Wednesday morning when the migrants who spent the night at the border crossing broke the police cordon and tried to reach the Croatia border.

“As far as we are concerned, we are prepared for the situation that might escalate to the higher extent,” the nurse said.

By 2 p.m. the migrants were still stranded on a bridge at the Bosnia-Croatia border in Maljevac, the northwest of Bosnia, following the said incident because of which the border crossing was closed.

The migrants do not give up on their intention to enter Croatia and go further to the western Europe countries, while the police are preventing them from doing that.

The number of migrants is constantly increasing, according to the news agencies, as the new groups are arriving at the border crossing from various nearby migrant camps.
