European Union Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn said he and Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaçi had good talks in Brussels and insisted the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations should resume soon in the interest of the regional stability and progress.
On his Twitter account, Hahn reiterated the EU stand that Kosovo’s import tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia were counter-productive and again called for their suspension.
Good meeting with President @HashimThaciRKS. Important that the dialogue #Serbia–#Kosovo resumes rapidly, also in the interest of broader regional stability and progress. I reiterated the #EU position that the counterproductive #Kosovo #tariffs must be at least suspended. pic.twitter.com/j7TY1cfKSX

Earlier, Thaci told London daily The Guardian that a deal between Belgrade and Pristina to normalize their relations is possible this year, despite recent setbacks.
“We have to sit down even with our arch enemies, but without any preconditions, and try to listen to each other,” the newspaper quoted him as saying on Monday.
