The 36th Dance Week Festival will take place in Zagreb on June 4-11, featuring known names from the international scene and new shows by Croatian dance groups and artists.
“We are witness to the position of contemporary dance, as well as culture in general, being systematically and increasingly destabilised in Croatia. Contemporary dance has a long tradition in Croatia, one of the longest in Europe but, by the structure and level of outlays for this activity, it’s as if we’ve only just begun,” organisers have said.
The 36th Dance Week Festival will take place at the Zagreb Dance Centre, the Zagreb Youth Theatre, the Croatian National Theatre as well as several other locations.
Over the past 36 years, the festival featured over 1,000 renowned world artists and produced more than 100 premiers by Croatian artists.
