A vice-president of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS), Dragana Jeckov, said at a news conference in Zagreb on Monday that the presidency of this parliamentary party that represents ethnic Serbs would decide on whether to stay or leave the ruling coalition after talks with other coalition partners.

“The SDSS presidency has unanimously concluded that SDSS president Milorad Pupovac absolutely enjoys the support of the entire presidency,” said Jeckov at today’s news conference.

The party leadership has also discussed all the circumstances in which the SDSS is now operating, and other coalition partners will be notified of this discussion, according to Jeckov.

She announced a new round of talks with the party’s coalition partners “in a fair manner” and after that the SDSS Main Committee would hold a meeting to decide on whether to stay or leave the ruling coalition.

During the press conference, reporters did not have an opportunity to ask questions, and the party leader Pupovac did not appear.

An SDSS parliamentary deputy, Boris Milosevic, said that villagers in Biljane Donje in Zadar County informed the local police of an incident in which houses of a few Serb returnees were stoned this past Saturday and that the returnees were also exposed to threats and insults.
