The Zagreb County Office of the Chief State Prosecutor (DORH) on Monday issued an indictment against Ivica Todoric, the founder of Agrokor and three more suspects, on charges of embezzling €1.25 million from that the retail and food concern through fictitious contracts with a Swiss company.
The other three suspects are Ante Huljev, Piruska Canjuga and an Austrian citizen, according to unofficial reports.
The indictment alleges that in 2013, the suspects abused their powers in Agrokor to conclude a contract with the Swiss company on fictitious advisory services which were never offered to Agrokor.
The money in the amount of EUR 1.25 million was paid to the Swiss company although the suspects were aware that the services would not be provided, according to the indictment.
