Parliament on Friday discussed a final bill on the ratification of an agreement between the Croatian and Hungarian governments on cooperation in military aviation aimed at expanding cooperation in antiaircraft defence.

Defence Ministry state secretary Tomislav Ivic said the agreement would not result in a loss of sovereignty over Croatian skies but make them more secure. The agreement will be signed for an indefinite time, the signatories can walk out of it at any time and it can be changed only with the consent of both sides, he added.

He said Germany, for example, had such an agreement with France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Belgium.

MP Ante Plazonic of the HDZ said Croatia and Hungary had a very high level of defence cooperation.
