The Croatian DIV Group has taken over the Norwegian shipyard Kleven Verft, sources at DIV have confirmed to state news agency Hina.
The agreement on the takeover of the Norwegian dock has been signed and it is expected to be implemented in the next few weeks, DIV officials told Hina.
Kleven Verft director Kjetil Bollestad has said that he is glad the company has a new, solid owner.
DIV group director and owner Tomislav Debeljak said that the cooperation between Kleven Verft and the Brodosplit shipyard in the city of Split, which is part of DIV Group, would “result in a synergy in all business segments, including the contracting and financing of new vessels as well as their design, construction and equipment.”
Before accepting DIV’s offer, Kleven Verft considered several other buyers.
The financial details of the deal were not revealed.
