Staff at the Sarajevo University Clinical Centre confirmed to N1 that the three Chinese nationals admitted there on Tuesday have tested negative for the coronavirus.

The news that Chinese nationals ended up at the Clinical Centre raised concern among Sarajevans.

This prompted the Director of the Clinical Centre, Sebija Izetbegovic, to hold a press conference to clear up any misinformation that might have been spread in the media.

“It is true, three patients were brought in and they are Chinese tourists. It is not true that they have high fevers. They came in with symptoms of a cold, one of them with symptoms of the common flu,” she said earlier on Tuesday.

She also confirmed that a group of students who returned from a trip to Milan, Italy, are currently in quarantine at their homes.

“We don’t know what they were exposed to and where they moved. We only know that they have fever,” she said.
