Coronavirus: Croatia reports 2nd death; case count rises to 481

A patient diagnosed with Covid-19, an elderly man, died in Zagreb's Fran Mihaljevic Hospital for Infectious Diseases on Thursday.

In a regular press briefing earlier in the day, head of the hospital, Alemka Markotic, reported that one of the patients on ventilators was in a critical condition.

As of Thursday morning, Croatia has 481 confirmed cases of the disease. A total of of 14 people are on ventilators to help them breathe in hospitals in Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, Split, and Dubrovnik.

Last week, Croatia reported its first coronavirus-related death in an elderly man who had been in self-isolation at his home in Istria.
