Serbia reports five more deaths, 408 new cases over last 24 hours

Five people, three women and two men died from Covid-19 in Serbia over the last 24 hours, bringing its total death toll to 99, while another 408 people tested positive, the nation's crisis task force said at their daily news conference on Wednesday.

The diseased were 69 years of age on average and the mortality rate until Wednesday was 2.03 percent. Since Tuesday at 3 pm, 2,880 people were tested, and 408 were positive on coronavirus infection. A total of confirmed cases was 4,873.

Since the first case in Serbia appeared on March 6, the number of tested was 26,278, while 3,245 were hospitalised.

In the last 24 hours, 128 were breathing on ventilators, five less than the 24 hours before.

Among the infected so far, 557, or 11.43 percent, were health workers.
