In the last 24 hours there have been 28 new cases of infection with coronavirus, bringing the total number to 2,009, and there has been one more COVID-19-related fatality, Croatia's national crisis management team said on Friday.

The latest victim was a woman born in 1928, and had a number of underlying health conditions. Currently, the death toll stands at 51.

Since late February, Croatia has conducted 30,213 tests, including 1,360 in the last 24 hours, and the percentage of positive cases is 6.65%.

A total of 12,181 people are in self-isolation.

The average age of the patients is 51 years and 54% of those infected are women, said the head of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, Krunoslav Capak.

The latest data show that 325 patients are being treated in hospitals, four more than on Thursday. The number of patients on ventilators has increased by two to 21.

There have been 982 recoveries to date, and of them 385 have been discharged from hospitals, while 497 have recovered at home, Capak said.
