Slovenia has reported only one new case of coronavirus in the past 24 hours and no deaths, Slovenia's government informed on Tuesday adding that it would now focus on reviving the tourist trade.

There are currently 24 Covid-19 patients being treated in hospitals, five of whom are in intensive care units and the number of hospitalised patients is continuing to decline.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic in March, a total of 1,467 were infected with the disease, mostly in and around Ljubljana (417) followed by Celje (307).

After schools and stores reopened again at the start of the week, due to the good epidemiological situation, focus has now turned to possibly salvaging part of the tourism season.

A significant relaxation of the border regime for now exists due to a bilateral agreement with Croatia while talks are also being held with the governments of other neighbouring countries.
