Six new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Slovenia after 1,147 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the government said on Saturday.
The new cases were registered in Piran (1) and Ljubljana (3), and two foreign nationals were also infected, according to Slovenian media reports.
Only two new cases were detected on Thursday, while on Wednesday as many as eight were reported, the largest number in the last month and a half. That prompted the government to tighten the criteria for entry into the country for people coming from Bosnia, Serbia and Kosovo because many of the cases were found to have been imported from there.
The total number of cases since the epidemic started has now risen to 1,519, of which 35 are still active. There have been no fatalities in the last 24 hours and the death toll remains at 109.
Seven infected people are currently recovering in hospitals after two were discharged on Friday.
