One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Slovenia in the last 24 hours, after 758 tests were conducted, and there have been no new fatalities, the Slovenian government said on Sunday.

Earlier this week Slovenia introduced restrictions on entries from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo due to an increase in the number of infections many of which were imported.

The number of new cases varied by the day.

On Monday three new cases were identified, on Tuesday four, on Wednesday night, on Thursday two and on Friday six.

A total of 1,520 people have been infected with the coronavirus since the start of the epidemic, with 92,008 tests having been conducted.

There are currently 35 active cases.

Six people have been hospitalised and one of them is in intensive care.

The epidemic, its impact on economic and other cooperation as well as the border regime and possible restrictions will be some of the topics of talks between Slovenian Foreign Minister Anze Logar and his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg, to be held in Ljubljana.
