Over the past 24 hours, there have been no new Covid-19 fatalities in Slovenia, 984 persons have been tested and 13 are positive, the government said on Tuesday.
This is the highest daily increase in new infections in recent weeks. Last week, Slovenia reported 25 new cases, the most since the week ending May 3, when there were 37 new infections.
Of the 13 new cases over the past 24 hours, six weree imported from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Kosovo.
Five patients are currently hospitalised, including one in intensive care.
The death toll is 109. Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 94,000 persons have been tested and 1,534 have been positive. Currently, there are 49 active cases of the infection.
The director of the National Institute of Public Health, Mario Fafangel, said Slovenia’s epidemiological situation “is still very good” in comparison with other EU member states and that all imported cases of the disease were “under control.”
