Eleven new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Slovenia after 843 tests carried out in the last 24 hours, the government said on Friday.
With the latest cases, the number of active infections has increased to 68. A total of 98,810 tests have been conducted since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country and 1,558 returned positive.
Since the beginning of June the infection has been confirmed in 85 people, and 37 new cases were identified in the first four days of this week. The largest number of new infections was detected on Monday – 13, the largest daily increase since April 24. The largest number of cases confirmed in a single day was on April 26 when 61 cases were registered.
Currently, eight people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19 and two of them are in intensive care.
The latest increases in the number of infections has prompted the government to again make wearing face masks mandatory in enclosed spaces and on public transport.
