A total of 43 new cases of the coronavirus disease have been detected in Slovenia in the past 24 hours after 1,168 tests were conducted, which is six more infections than on the previous day, the Slovenian government said on Thursday.
The most new infections were reported in Ljubljana (10) and Celje (4). There have been no new fatalities and the death toll remains at 129. There are 313 active cases, 17 patients are hospitalised, including two in intensive care.
This is the highest number of daily infections since early April, but owing to the profile of those infected, the health situation is much more favourable as most of the new cases are young people who have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all and do not need hospitalisation.
