Slovenia reports 43 new coronavirus cases

Forty-three new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Slovenia after 1,708 tests performed in the last 24 hours, four fewer than on Friday, the government said on Twitter on Saturday.

Currently, 22 people are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19 and three of them are in intensive care. Five patients have recovered and have been discharged in the last 24 hours.

Since the start of the outbreak in early March, 3,122 people have been infected with the novel virus and 505 cases remain active. The death toll stands at 135.

The largest number of new infections was identified in the capital Ljubljana – 8, which also has the largest number of active cases – 98.
