Health authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported on Tuesday that 304 of the 2,061 people tested since the day before were positive for the coronavirus, a steep increase in daily cases compared to previous days.
Meanwhile, 342 people recovered from COVID-19 between Monday and Tuesday and there are currently 6,120 active cases across the country
According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, out of the 200,525 Bosnians tested since the virus came to the country, 21,961 people were confirmed infected so far while 15,172 of them recovered.
The COVID-19 death toll stands at 669.
The Public Health Institute in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region said that 227 of the 1,569 samples tested since Monday were positive for the virus and that four more people passed away due to the disease.
In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 72 of the 434 people tested were positive and one person died due to COVID-19.
Five new coronavirus cases were also reported in the Brcko District, which belongs to neither of Bosnia’s two entities.
