The German Foreign Ministry on Wednesday advised its citizens against travelling to a batch of European destinations, including Dubrovnik, due to high coronavirus infection rates, Reuters reported.
Due to the spread of the epidemic, Germany added two Croatian counties to the warning list -Dubrovnik-Neretva and Pozega-Slavonia.
The alert does not represent a travel ban to those regions but suggests tourists reconsider their plans.
Germany considers high risk those countries or regions which have recorded 50 or more new coronavirus cases per 100,000 over seven days.
Persons returning to Germany from countries or regions on the warning list must get tested for the virus and self-isolate until they get the test result.
On August 20, the German Foreign Ministry advised against travel to Croatia’s Sibenik-Knin and Split-Dalmatia countries, adding Zadar County to the list earlier this month.
