Health authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have on Thursday reported 285 newly confirmed coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours as well as five more deaths due to COVID-19.
The Public Health Institute of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region said that 212 more people tested positive for the virus between Wednesday and Thursday. FBiH also saw five more COVID-19 fatalities.
Another 73 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS).
The results of the latest tests conducted in Bosnia’s Brcko District, which belongs to neither of the two entities, have not yet been published.
According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the total number of people who tested positive for the virus so far in Bosnia is approximately 22,544, of which more 15,200 have recovered.
A total of 680 people have passed away due to COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far.
There are currently more than 6,500 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
