In September 2020, 3,090 new cars were sold in Croatia, down 13% on the year, while 28,257 new cars were sold in the first nine months of this year, down 45% from the corresponding period in 2019, according to data from the Promocija Plus market research agency.
This year to date, Volkswagen sold the largest number of new passenger vehicles (4,495), accounting for 15.9% of all sales, followed by Skoda with 3,852 cars sold and a 13.6% sale share, and Renault with 2,553 cars sold and a 9% market share.
In said period, 16,002 petrol-fuelled cars were sold, i.e. 56.6% of all new cars sold, followed by 9,920 diesel cars (35.1%), 1,676 hybrids (5.9%), 391 natural gas vehicles (1.4%) and 267 electric vehicles (0.9%).
