A total of 147,434 jobless people were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) at the end of September 2020, a decrease of 2.6% on the month and an increase of 31.2% on the year, the HZZ said on Friday.
In October, the number of job-seekers fell by 3,934 from September.
Daily figures show that the number of unemployed persons is growing in October, given that 148,686 people are currently registered with the HZZ, which is 1,252 more than at the end of September. A total of 10,198 vacancies are currently advertised.
Year on year, the number of job-seekers has continued to rise at a rate of slightly over 30%, although the rate has slowed down after 35.5% in May, 34.3% in June, 32.4% in July, 32.2% in August and 31.2% in September.
This September 35,058 more people were registered with the HZZ than in September 2019. There were 20,404 newly-registered unemployed, which is 14.3% more than last September.
