Serbia's Health Ministry said on Tuesday that over the last 24 hours, five patients died from COVID-19-related complications and out of 9,430 tested 1,053 people were confirmed infected with the coronavirus.
That was the highest number of infected people since the outbreak of the epidemic in March, and the first time it went up to a thousand cases.
The death toll stood at 798, with a mortality rate of 1,95 percent.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 1,298,949 people have been tested, and 40,880 have been confirmed infected.
On Tuesday, 823 people have been hospitalised, and 38 on ventilators.
