The Croatian Medical Chamber (HLK) on Wednesday expressed support for physicians working in the Zagreb KB Dubrava hospital's unit for respiratory support in their efforts to secure good standards in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

“In the interest of all patients and physicians at KB Dubrava, the HLK asks the hospital management to immediately start dealing with problems identified in a letter by a doctor who works at the respiratory support unit. Judging by the support expressed by a large number of physicians working at the unit for the doctor’s claims, it is evident that her allegations are true,” the chamber said.

It also described as entirely unacceptable the hospital management’s plan to carry out an internal investigation against doctors who, it says, by warning about serious problems in the provision of medical help to patients, act in line with medical ethics and the Hippocratic oath.
