At least 1,562 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 24 hours and 34 passed away due to COVID-19, public health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported on Wednesday.
Of the 1,408 samples tested in Bosnia’s semi-autonomous region of Republika Srpska (RS), 630 were positive. The RS also registered 14 COVID-19 fatalities.
The other Bosnian entity, the Federation (FBiH), registered 932 new coronavirus cases among the 2,275 people tested while 20 people passed away due to the disease.
According to the Civil Affairs Ministry, more than 44,000 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the pandemic and more than 27,000 of them have recovered so far.
