Healthcare authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have on Saturday that 1,912 more people tested positive for the coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, once again breaking the daily record.
In Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) region, the test results for 842 of the 1,674 people tested since Friday were positive for the virus. Seven COVID-19 fatalities were reported.
In the other semi-autonomous entity, the Federation (FBiH), 1,070 of the 2,217 samples tested were positive and 15 people passed away due to the disease.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has been experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of daily coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
According to the Civil Affairs Ministry, a total of 50,090 people have tested positive for the virus in the country since the beginning of the epidemic and 28,083 have so far recovered.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,234 and there are currently 20,773 active coronavirus cases in Bosnia.
