Average agricultural producer prices in Croatia fell by 2.2% in the third quarter of 2020 compared with the same quarter of 2019, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Crop prices fell by 3.1% and livestock prices by 0.5%. The decrease in crop prices was driven by prices of cereals, forage plants, vegetables, fruit and wine.
Cereal prices dropped by 5.6%, prices of forage plants by 9.1%, vegetable prices by 7%, fruit prices by 6.4% and wine prices by 8%. At the same time, prices of industrial plants rose by 18.2% and olive oil prices by 8.4%.
In the livestock sector, prices of pigs fell the most, by 13.6%, while prices of bovines increased by 6.5% and prices of milk (cow’s, sheep’s and goat’s) by 2.6%.
Prices of goods and services for current use decreased by 2.9%, mostly due to a 23.8% drop in energy prices and a 15.6% drop in fertilizer prices. At the same time, feed prices went up by 2.1%, prices of seed and propagating material by 5.3%, prices of plant protection products by 7.4% and prices of veterinary services by 0.1%.
