A new set of measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic took effect across Serbia on Tuesday and will remain in force for the next 10 days.
The measures were proposed and adopted by the government pandemic Crisis Staff last week.
The new measures include shorter opening hours for cafes, bars, clubs, betting shops and shopping malls, mandatory wearing of masks indoors as well as outdoors wherever close contact between people is unavoidable. A ban on public gatherings of more than five people both indoors and outdoors is also in force but that measure does not apply to companies, schools, shops, malls where every person has to have four square meters of space.
Under the new measures, all employees who can should work from home. Strict control of public transport is being introduced to make sure passengers wear masks and that the number of people on public transport vehicles is half or less than their declared capacities. Strict control of self-isolation and all other measures to combat the pandemic are also being introduced.
