Firefighters have been battling a wildfire that broke out at Seget Gornji, inland from the southern coastal town of Trogir, and by midnight the blazes have consumed approximately 550 hectares of low vegetation and some pine wood, the Split-Dalmatia County fire service said. Pročitaj više
The fire has been contained only in some parts, while in most parts it has not yet been placed under control.
The fire service said the fire was approaching residential buildings but that there was no need for evacuation.
Because of the fire, landing operations at Split Airport were suspended for about an hour and flights were rerouted to Zadar or Zagreb.
