Average price of a single square metre for newly built apartments in Croatia was 11,060 kuna (1,470 euros) in the second half of 2017, or 11.7 percent up from the same period in 2016, state statistics bureau said on Wednesday (March 14).
In Zagreb, the average price for a square metre was 12,390 kuna, or 24.8 percent up from the year before, and in the rest of the country it was 9,838 kuna, or 0.2 percent less. These numbers include properties offered on the market as well as subsidised housing.
Average prices for apartments sold by dealers and real estate companies – excluding subsidised housing – was 11,197 kuna, which remained unchanged from the year before.
However, in Zagreb the prices were up by 8.2 percent to 12,418 kuna, while in the rest of the country it fell by 8.4 percent to 9,983 kuna compared to the second half of 2016.
According to statistics bureau data, in the second half of 2017 some 1,330 new apartments were sold in Croatia, almost half of which (647) were in Zagreb, and the other half (683) in the rest of the country.
