A Romanian citizen driving a truck with 16 illegal migrants was arrested on a Croatian-Serbian border crossing in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, local police reported on Wednesday.
The truck was stopped at the Bajakovo border crossing in eastern Croatia. It carried 16 nationals of Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Iraq, who were discovered crammed into a hidden compartment of the vehicle via x-ray screening.
Criminal charges were filed against the driver, while the migrants discovered will be expelled from Croatia.
