Due to maintenance works on Zagreb airport's runway, scheduled to begin on April 4, some incoming flights might be redirected to Pula airport.
“Maintenance work on the runway tarmac will begin on April 4 and is expected to last for two months, and will be done during the night-time, in the period between the last scheduled evening flights and first morning flights, to avoid interrupting regular airport traffic,” airport company MZLZ told Index.hr on Thursday.
The national flag carrier, Croatia Airlines, were also asked to comment, and said that in case of delays to incoming flights, they might be rerouted to the Istrian city of Pula.
“Only in case of unplanned delays, which would require night landing in Zagreb at the time of airport’s closure for maintenance, flights would be rerouted to Pula. We have pre-emptively agreed with Pula airport to extend their business hours, so they could potentially receive incoming planes,” Croatia Airlines said.
