The European Commission is set to criticize Serbia in its report on the country’s progress on the road to the European Union which will be released in Strasbourg on April 17, Belgrade daily Danas said on Wednesday quoting unnamed diplomatic sources in Brussels.

The report will include criticism over a lack of progress on the rule of law and insufficient alignment with EU foreign policy, the sources said adding that the lack of progress in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is also a problem that the report will mention.

The European Commission report will be more favorable to official Belgrade in terms of regional cooperation and the economy, Danas said and recalled that the opening of new chapters in Serbia’s pre-accession negotiations with the EU depends on what the European Commission says in its report.
