Croatia's Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Marija Pejcinovic-Buric, will pay visits to Canada and the United States from Friday to Tuesday, her ministry announced on Thursday.
Pejcinovic-Buric will be in Toronto from 20 to 22 April, attending meetings between G7 foreign ministers and female foreign ministers from around the world.
The informal G7 meeting will discuss the security situation in Syria, relations with Russia and Iran, and the situations in Venezuela and the Korean peninsula. The formal meeting will focus on the equality and empowerment of women as a key factor in economic growth, and building peace.
While in Toronto, Pejcinovic-Buric will meet with her Canadian counterpart, Chrystia Freeland, to discuss bilateral relations, particularly the ways of improving economic cooperation and attracting investment to Croatia. She will also meet with Croatian business people, and representatives of the Croatian community in Canada.
In New York on 23 and 24 April, the Croatian minister will attend a UN Security Council open debate on youth, peace and security, and a UN General Assembly high-level meeting on peace building.
Also scheduled is a meeting with Miroslav Lajcak, President of the UN General Assembly.
