Croatia is a respectable NATO member, and a key factor of stability and security in the region, said Laura Cooper, US Department of Defence official, on Thursday.
The Croatian Defence Minister, Damir Krsticevic, met with Cooper on Thursday for consultations which confirmed the excellent cooperation and strategic partnership between Croatia and the United States, said the Defence Ministry in a press release.
Krsticevic said that the US was Croatia’s key strategic partner in the area of defence and security, and thanked the US for its donations and support, said the press release.
Cooper congratulated Krsticevic on his induction into the United States Army War College’s Hall of Fame and added that was a great recognition for Croatia.
The US officially thanked Croatia for its contribution to the system of NATO’s collective security and Croatia’s efforts in equipping and modernising its Armed Forces, particularly referring to the gevernment’s decision to procure F-16 fighter jets, said the press release.
