English singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be perform for the first time in Croatia, at the 2018 Rovinj Summer Music Festival in the Istrian town of Rovinj on June 9.
Ellis-Bextor first came to prominence in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the indie rock band TheAudience before going solo in the early 2000s.
Commenting on her first ever performance in Croatia, Ellis-Bextor said she was really looking forward to the concert, adding that she and her band would give their best performance.
The audience in Croatia will be able to enjoy some of Ellis-Bextor’s biggest hits such as “If This Ain’t Love,” “Murder on the dance floor,” “I won’t change you’”and “Music Gets the Best of Me.”
Sophie also collaborated with numerous musicians such as Freemasons, Bob Sinclair, Calvin Harris and George Michael.
Her solo debut album, Read My Lips, was released in September 2001. The album reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and was certified double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
The record experienced international success, selling more than 2 million copies worldwide. She since went on to record 6 studio albums with her fifth, Wanderlust, becoming her highest charting album, peaking at number 4 in the UK.
In 2018 she will release her first greatest hits compilation, called The Song Diaries, which will consist on orchestral reworkings of 16 singles.
