Speaking ahead of the World Cup final between Croatia and France in Moscow on Sunday, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has invited all Croatian supporters to Zagreb on Monday to welcome home the national football team at a celebration in the city's main Trg Bana Jelacica square.

“In expectation of yet another magnificent success of the Croatian national football team, I invite all the supporters, as many people as possible, to welcome our team who have made us all very proud and satisfied for the last month and for many years with their brilliant results. Let’s all get together with them in Zagreb on Monday,” Plenkovic said in Zagreb on Saturday after attending an event organised by the Ministry of Agriculture.

“(Croatia) are yet to win, but their success is already such that we can celebrate,” the PM said.

The Croatian Railways (HZ) company has offered a 50% discount on all tickets from anywhere in Croatia to Zagreb and back on Monday.

Croatia’s national football team ais expected to arrive at the Zagreb airport at around 2pm on Monday, the national air carrier Croatia Airlines has said.
