Along with their regular salaries, in the first six months of 2018, Croatian lawmakers have spent additional 5.1 million kuna on rent, daily allowances, airplane tickets, hotels, and family separation allowances, the Parliament of Croatia said.
According to the figures released by the parliament, MP Domagoj Hajdukovic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Ante Bacic of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) spent the most — 89,913 kuna and 89,488 kuna respectively, according to figures released by the national parliament.
Parliament Speaker generated 36,000 kuna in extra expenses, one-third of which was spent on airplane tickets.
Of the total amount of 5.1 million kuna generated between 1 January and 10 July 2018, 1.7 million kuna was spent to cover the costs of using personal vehicles for official purposes. A total of HRK 1.4 million was spent on rent and another 150,000 kuna on utility bills.
A total of 587,000 kuna was spent on airplane tickets, 483,000 kuna on family separation allowances, HRK 288,000 on the tolls, 258,000 kuna on hotels and 142,000 kuna on daily allowances Slightly less than 29,000 kuna was spent on taxi services and other expenses, while only 18,000 kuna was spent on public transportation.
