The 10th MONOPLAY contemporary dance festival will take place in Zadar on August 20-24, bringing many eminent artists, contemporary dancers, art theorists and fans from all over the world to several locations in the coastal city.
The event will kick off with Helsinki-based choreographer Sanna Myllylahti's solo performance "I Will Tell You When I Am Ready", while Spanish artist Jesus Rubio Gamo will close it with "now that we are not too old yet", another solo performance.
The festival will include four workshops as well as MONOAZA, an arts-hospitality project conceived as a sort of park in which photography, videos, music and dance meet and encourage artistic exchange in a space intended for festival guests and audiences.
MONOPLAY is co-organised by the Zadar Dance Ensemble and the 21:21 arts organisation from Zagreb.
